This is a great flat walk along the west side of the Tamer river. The path fluctuates between sealed tarmac, short sections of boardwalk and loose gravel. There are some fab views of the river and there are also wetlands at the Tailrace park end which are worth checking out - this section is mostly boardwalk.

Dogs allowed on lead.

You can either park at Tailrace Park or Tamar Marine (both off the A7). The walk is approx. 5km return and there's a small circuit option or you can return via the same route.

On your way home...drive up to LuLu's cafe in Trevallyn (off Gorge Road) for a bite to eat or a glass of the good stuff🍷. We found accessing the cafe's outside front deck pretty easy and they are very dog friendly. Please note though there is a very steep slope down from the back car park so we would recommend parking out the front.

Alternatively, stop off at the Kings Bridge Bar & Restaurant on Paterson Street - they do a great cold beer and/or glass of vino. Wheelchair and dog friendly outside.
