The Tamar Island Wetlands Centre is a short 10-minute drive from Launceston (off the A7). This is a great reserve with lots of plant and animal life and is very wheelchair friendly with boardwalk tracks across the wetlands to Tamar Island. A return walk is approx. 3km.
There is also a loose gravel/natural path up to a view point...which of course Mum has been pushed up numerous times but we wouldn't describe this as wheelchair friendly 😃
The visitor/interpretation centre is worth a look and entry to the wetlands is by donation.
