This is a great little walk over in Newstead (5 minute drive from Launceston) and there are a couple of options available. We tend to walk all the way from the Hoblers Bridge end to Henry Street (approx 2km) and then come back the same way with a detour via the wetland circuit. This includes some nice river views and a short boardwalk section.
It's completely flat, however the surface is loose gravel so you need to expect a bump or two. If you head here in winter or after rain...expect a fair few wet and muddy patches. At certain times of the day/weekends it can be busy with runners and cyclists.
You can park at either end for free...we personally find Hoblers Bridge end.
Dogs allowed on lead.
